As 2014 is quickly coming to an end, visions of red, green and glitter come to mind. Planning the perfect holiday look can help you exude confidence when arriving at your company’s holiday party or meeting your significant other’s extended family for the first time while gathered around a Christmas tree. It can be difficult to know the “appropriate” dress code for a festive event you’ve never gone to in the past. Here are my top ten best looks for the holidays. All of these looks are safe for any occasion with a mix of classic and trendy pieces.
Look #1: There’s no denying my love for plaid when the weather gets cold. This is a great look for service, a classy dinner with the in-laws, or a night out sipping wine with friends. No matter your plans, this look is be sure to get you more than a few compliments.
Look #2: Keeping with the plaid theme, this look is a combination of comfort and dressy. I picture this outfit being great for Christmas Day brunch, enjoying eggnog with the parents or snuggled up with that special someone while watching It’s a Wonderful Life.
Look #3: Kicking it up a notch, this look is fabulous. Perfect for Christmas Dinner, late night service or a company party.
Look #4: Incorporating leather is one of my favorite trends for the winter. This look will keep you comfortable and confident no matter what you’re up too. Pair it with over-the-knee suede boots or a pair of sexy sling backs to change from day to night.
Look #5: Pearls, cheetah print and red…. does it get any better than that?! Great for day or night time whether you’re with the grandparents or with friends. You simply can’t go wrong with this combo.
Look #6: All black with a statement necklace. This is the safest look of my top ten. Doesn’t matter where you’re going or who is going to be there. You’ll look classy & timeless in this look.
Look #7: Festive tights. Put a spin on any ol’ look by pairing it with funky, sparkly or patterned tights. Perfect for a nighttime look while keeping warm!
Look #8: Camel & black. What used to be seen as a No-No is now easily one of my favorite looks. Black can sometimes seem too harsh for a daytime event. No problem! Mix in camel accessories and BOOM: instant daytime look.
Look #9: Grandma’s present and skater skirts. Spice up any holiday sweater by pairing it with a leather skater skirt and thigh-high socks.
Look #10: Rounding out my list of top ten looks for the holidays is faux fur – is anyone surprised!? A flowy, long-sleeve dress with a faux fur vest is perfect for the holidays. Pair with knee-high boots for a day time event or heeled booties for a dinner look.
No matter what your plans are this holiday season, do it in fashion.
Until Next Time,
